Accenture and Bombardier Transportation worked closely together to improve the BT production and staging techniques. The goal was to implement simple and efficient replenishment processes based on the principles of "pull-based planning and control". The solution consists of 3 variants of Kanban (Stock Transfer, Vendor and In-house Kanban) and it is automated by the use of RF handhelds within a full WM-environment. This implementation reduced the effort of planning and controlling significantly in their production process.
